I was born in 1971 in Mexico, and have been fortunate to live in Austria, Belgium, England, Australia, and as of September, Canada. In these places I have worked as therapist/healer, cultural analyst and researcher, textbook writer, linguist, university lecturer, translator, teacher of English, German and Spanish, astrologer... the drive to explore all these activities was born of a profound dissatisfaction with my life and myself, which led me to a long search through intellectual, therapeutic and spiritual paths, and which culminated in a PhD thesis: a therapeutic session for a very complex client: Mexico, my home country.
In the work I carried out to bring this together, I explored the themes of identity and shame in relation to the refusal of the Mexican social network of which I am a part, to acknowledge and honour its indigenous roots. Through exploring this in myself, I finally found the breakthrough I had been hoping for. I found that through the understanding of who I am, I gained the freedom to be myself and share and expand this knowledge through the exploration of the myriad ways in which we can integrate our emotional shadow into ourselves and become available for the experience of profound joy and love. This is what I strive to bring to my work, not only in therapy, but in my research activities as well.
